Outreach is one of the most important aspects of my service work.  The transgender community really needs the support of special individuals in society such as counselors, medical doctors, teachers, HR staff, ministers, social workers and so many more.  All those in the helping professions can really help out even if it is just to become a bit more educated.

 

The stigma and stereotypical beliefs about transgender people are unfair and do nothing to serve society.  Those same beliefs continue as we also continue to stereotype men and women.  As we come into an understanding of transgenderism, we are able to move past our stereotypes about gender itself.  That is good for everyone.

 

There are about 40 different areas we can discuss about transgenderism and gender itself, but we will only cover a subset.  It is a fascinating subject to discuss because we all love mystery.  Gender is as mysterious as is the human soul itself.  We keep trying to get it, but it eludes us every time.

 

I offer small outreach groups to those who have a true desire to understand a bit better.  

 

A small group of up to eight people maximum is what I can offer, given the office space I have.  The target duration for the meeting is an hour and a half, but with lots of interaction, it may take 2 hours.
