My Professional Background

 

Marathon Runner

I have run about thirteen marathons now, all 26.2 miles long.  The longest run I made though was 33 miles long.  I just jog shorter distances now, but I do love to run.

Youth First Texas

This is where I volunteer and am a board member at.  If you know of any GLBT youth, please let them know about us.

Resource Center of Dallas

The resource center is one of the largest GLBT centers in the United states.  I have been honored by GEAR in the past as most valuable contributor.

North Texas Gender Friends

I am a proud moderator of NTGF and love to build community among all those who believe in free gender expression. .

Nature

My gal and I love The Heard, it is an unsung nature spot just north of Dallas and I highly recommend it.  Remember that nature gives us her gift of stillness and without it, we can find no peace.  So please do your part to preserve Mother Nature.

Academic

Massage Therapy

I received my massage therapy degree from Universal Body Wellness in McKinney, Texas and am licensed through the state of Texas.

Doctorate in Electrical Engineering

I received my Ph.D.  from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1998.  I had a 4.0 GPA.  I received a full-ride scholarship.  I am a published author, given numerous talks and hold a patent for an integrated circuit.

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering

I received my M.S. from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1990.  I had a 3.9 GPA. 

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

I received my B.S. from South Dakota State University in 1987.  I had a 3.6 GPA.  I was honored to be voted Outstanding Student of the Year by the IEEE.  I was also honored to be voted into Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi.

2006-Present

Youth First Texas.

I am a proud board member and volunteer at Youth First Texas, an organization serving GLBT youth aged 14-22.

1999-2006

L-3 Communications

I was a manager and senior principal engineer.  I developed reconnaissance algorithms to intercept radar systems from spy planes.

1995-1999

University of Texas at Dallas 

I was a faculty member and research scientist.  While studying, I was also a research and teaching assistant.

At Intecom, I developed call processing software for a telecommunication system.  When you call me for an appointment from a corporate phone, you may be executing some of my software.

I was a software developer and hardware developer. 

1964—1986

All the Rest

Well, do you really want to know!  I picked and sold blueberries, delivered newspapers, washed dishes, cooked broasted chicken, sold and installed stereo systems, was a part-time photographer and had my own darkroom, I worked on farms, tended garden and worked in a power lab and nurtured one of the first electric vehicles, made by GE.
